To buy or handle a handgun in Connecticut you must be 21
years of age and have a CT Pistol Permit. To buy a rifle or shotgun you must
possess a CT Pistol Permit, CT Long Gun Certificate, or CT Eligibility
Certificate. With the new legislation, a Hunting License is no longer valid
to purchase firearms in the state of CT. To purchase any caliber ammunition,
a CT Pistol Permit or CT Ammunition Certificate is required.
